SALMON WATER TREATMENT PLANT

Located in Salmon, Idaho, this project was a complete retro fit of the existing water system to accommodate current residents and future population growth.  The new addition was designed to utilize the existing building as much as possible for economy of construction and will filter 4 million gallons of water per day.  It also consisted of the addition of a chemical storage room with bulk chemical storage tanks, chemical offloading station, secondary containment, and chemical metering systems.

While the existing plant was off-line for installation purposes, state-of-the-art water filtration semi-trucks were brought in from Pall Corporation to continue providing clean water to the city.  This created logistics challenges which were overcome by careful thought and planning as well as optimal construction sequencing to ensure the new plant could be operational within the extremely tight schedule.

The project was funded by the Idaho Department of Environmental Quality and Engineered by CH2M Hill.
