Salmon Water Treatment Plant
The Salmon Water Treatment Plant, located in the mountains of Central Idaho, was a complete retrofit of the existing water treatment plant. The existing building was entirely gutted out and rebuilt. The new addition was designed to utilize the existing building as much as possible for economy of construction and filters 4 million gallons of water per day. It also consisted of the addition of a chemical storage room with bulk chemical storage tanks, chemical off-loading station, secondary containment, and chemical metering systems. While the existing plant was off-line for installation purposes, state of-the-art water filtration semi trucks were brought in from Pall Corporation to continue providing clean water to the city. This created logistics challenges which were overcome by careful thought and planning as well as optimal construction sequencing to ensure the new plant could be operational within the extremely tight schedule.
